Bringing together non-believers …
The biggest misconception Christians have about atheists is that atheism is just another belief.
They assume that when one quits a religion and becomes an atheist, one is trading one belief for another, like going from a Christian to a Muslim.
It’s not anything like that.
Atheism is not a belief. As an atheist, I believe exactly how you would believe — if you lacked a belief in god. That’s it. Imagine if you didn’t have God as a go-to thought process to deal with situations in your life — what would you do?
That’s what it’s like for us. When you don’t have the God-concept as an option for dealing with life’s problems, you have to find another way to deal with them — using what is already available. That’s us. We’re simply dealing with life without God. We don’t substitute something else for it. We just do without.
