Bringing together non-believers …
Today am going to go after the necks of what I shall call the Internet Atheist. Internet tigers. Social media tigers. Freethinkers who look and are indeed very intelligent on the Internet, but it ends there. The ones who complain about the ills of religion but do nothing.
Internet is good. It has helped atheists and especially free – thinkers to engage and indeed challenge religious faith through memes and intelligent discussions .
But what are we actually doing to save our children from indoctrination, what are we practically doing to stop legislation based on religious faith? What are we doing to protect our societies from freedom from worship? What are we doing to share our knowledge in the communities in the rural areas?
Have we [atheists and free thinkers ] sponsored any Bill in Parliament in line with our fundamental human freedoms, in line with international law? Have we proposed and submitted an education curriculum for our public schools, have we held sufficient debates on TV and radio? Let me put it differently. Is social media really helping change the way religion is negatively affecting our communities?
We must do more than being internet tigers. Let us come together, form and support atheist movements so that we can do more together. We must pull together to have a real impact on our societies.
