Bringing together non-believers …
Yesterday I witnessed something rather unfortunate. I visited this Muslim family. They were preparing to travel by road for an eight hour journey. This girl of about 5 years was being prepared for the long night travel. Then the mom at some point dresses her in a Nikab. The black long Muslim dress that covers her hair legs and all.
I ask the mom – “Must she wear that? Dress her in some warm clothes coz shez travelling, she doesn’t need that.” The mom looked at me suprised and told me: It’s Islam. “And the dad is a Sheikh anyway”.
When dressing a child for a long cold nights travel, what has Islam got to do with it? Of course I asked myself. .. if my dad was a Sheikh, what would I have turned out to be? Can’t children be let to grow and learn for themselves about religion? My message to parents. Your children must not inherit your religious faith.
