I don’t know, but it doesn’t mean it’s god!

i-dontI have been having a discussion with a colleague this morning. By the way, as a public atheists, most of my bosses want to have discussions with me about religion. I like it! They acknowledge and respect me for that.

So he asked me what i think is beyond the skies, what do I see? he asked: Can I understand what is beyond the stars? Do I know what is beyond our galaxy? Can humans know how everything operates? He argues that we cannot. Because of this, we have limited knowledge. We really can’t grasp everything. And that is where god comes in. God is the one who knows that which we do not know. God is the creator of the seen and unseen. — Well, I hope you guys see how shallow this argument is. That because we don’t know, therefore there is a god. No, this is a very lame argument. Because we don’t know, doesn’t mean that there is a god.

Yes, I don’t know. We don’t know everything. We have no clue about the entire universe. But folks, it’s simple. This doesn’t in the slightest way imply that there is a supernatural being!

Funny too also how when xtians can’t explain something they turn to, ‘god does things his own way, with his own understanding and that it is beyond our understanding’. Ha!! For them its ok to have limiting knowledge but for atheists we have to have answers to nearly everything. In any case, its their onus to prove there is a god, I still don’t see any proofs.

There is hope yet. It would appear that the atheists have woken up to their finitude.
Considering then that the claim of the Christian is that God is beyond the universe, and the atheist has now acknowledged his lack of knowledge even about that universe, then logically the furthest he can assert is that he does not know if God exists. He may even state that he does not think that God exists. What he cannot do without suspending rationality is state that GOD DOES NOT EXIST. That would require that he has absolute knowledge , a position he has already denied.
The Christian admits his finitude. But he claims that there is someone who is not finite . He further claims that this infinite being has revealed himself to man. He freely admits that while the infinite being has given him some revelation , it is still nowhere close to absolute. But it is sufficient to help him make certain conclusions and decisions.
The real confrontation with the atheist is , I think, the Christian’s claim that the revelation from the infinite being ( read GOD) is universal , that the said God created everything and everyone ( including , believe it or not, the atheist!), and that all will be called to account by God. The atheist is outraged! But in his zeal he goes too far. He posits that that God does not exist. I think he is afraid , for if he does not take that position he logically opens up the possibility of God’s existence, and that has traumatic consequences. And so to ban God out of his life , he bans him out of the entire universe, a strange action from one who starts by proclaiming finitude.
To remain logical the atheist must either claim to have absolute knowledge or graduate into agnostism. That is of course only if I correctly understand the atheist’s position to be that “there is no God”.

Beyond the sky is a vast territory, big, black, silent place full of cosmic explosions and rocks thrust into the unknown by various forces.

I had an intuitive telepathic dream that an Unidentified Flying Object (UFO) was flying high in the Kenyan Airspace and no intelligence Radar was able to ascertain or detect its movements including the Military strength. A daunting task that ended up as an exercise in futility was unable to discern where it came from or where it was going to.

Perhaps it would help if the radar was upgraded.

He is God of the gaps. Christians are perhaps the biggest lovers of situations in which no answers exist yet. They cherish a lack of knowledge. Its their source of faith. They are the most nonsensical batch of people I know.

What is behind the skies is vast empty space full of cosmic explosions and rocks thrown into the unknown by various forces. What you see as stars at night are planets and galaxies and other space junks travelling at high velocity through time.
