Bringing together non-believers …
We are calling for the immediate arrest and prosecution of Pastor James Maina Ng’ang’a of Neno Evangelism. It is unfortunate that the police are treating a case in which his vehicle was involved in a fatal accident along the Nairobi – Nakuru highway without the urgency and diligence it deserves, if media reports are anything to go by.
It slowly emerging that Pastor James Maina Ng’ang’a may have been in the vehicle that was involved in the fatal accident. Media reports also suggest that there was an intricate cover-up by the officers in order to hide the truth.
Our main concern is the apparent, seemingly deliberate cover-up to shield this ‘Man of God’ from taking responsibility in this case. We feel that his position as a famous Pastor, as a so called ‘Man of God’, has a huge bearing on how this matter is being handled by the police. We would like Pastor Ng’ang’a to be treated just like any other ordinary suspect in this case. Pastors are not above the law in Kenya. Indeed, since Pastors have a lot of influence on their congregation, they should be held more accountable for their actions.
We are calling on the Inspector- General of Police Mr. Joseph Boinnet to investigate and bring to book all the officers that have been involved in the cover-up of this case. It is unfortunate that the police would want to cover up such a case yet lives have been lost.
Kenyans should be weary of those who call themselves ‘Men of God’, since many use religion to enrich themselves and to give false hope to their ‘flock’.
We would like to send our sincere condolences to Mr. Martin Mbugua for the unfortunate loss of his wife and child during the fatal accident.
