The church is slowly loosing meaning

You may have realized that Sundays are no longer days that most Kenyans regard as important for worshipping the sky god. Sundays, for most people provide an opportunity for most Kenyans to rest, go out, recover from hang overs, watch sports, Sundays are not that important with regard to the Church, gods and Jesus. I was taking a walk this morning and most churches are empty. I think if you are a church goer, you are basically doing it because you got married in a particular church, and you want to be seen to be consistent in your life. You want to please your church. The fact is that, given an opportunity, you would extend your sleep till around 10 AM, and lazily wake up to make breakfast and send for the newspaper.

You see, going to church has lost meaning for most Kenyans, which is a good thing. The goddamn pastors, priests and fathers have finally been figured out. They are conmen, pretenders purporting to understand the metaphysical, supernatural, non-existed world of gods more than any other person. They know nothing, these pastors. Don’t be cheated, anyone coming to you, claiming that they are speaking the word of god are lying to you BIG TIME! And its a good thing that most of you have realized what bullish*t goes on in these churches.

The days of shouting like mad men on sundays in churches, talking about the Jesus phenomenon are coming to an end. If you are still a church goer, get off that habit. It is a waste of time. And for those who are still scared of what your wives will think, what your husbands will think if you tell them you don’t feel like going to church, what the church leadership will imagine of you, your reputation, just get the fear off your chest. You have to break free from this religious colonization, the last remaining form of mental colonization that most Africans face.

Bravo to those who did not attend church. You have done humanity proud!

Gods do not exist, prayers don’t work, pastors don’t know anything about gods, they just imagine, and you can live without gods!

Bravo folks!

The true mental decolonization is to go back in2 ua own culture.
What you guys are promoting is just another advanced form of mental coloniolism. who is your mentor? Am sure its not your glandpapa.
I know about the African heritage
The church is not bad and it can preserve Africans if Africanizm is installed in its system.
You are just paving way for the new world order you guys

Davi, no we don’t have mentors, we acknowledge that every man is free to think for himself/ herself.
We are saying we can’t be told to follow a book written by ignorant and barbaric goatherders living 2000 years ago whilst humanity has grown in leaps and bounds.
culture enslaves, it is a tool of domination of the majority by the few called elders. it ain’t democratic, and it does not allow dissent.

Church has lost meaning tfor you probably, but it will never loose meaning for many including myself, because it is beyond a building it is about a fellowship of people, hearts, world over worshipping the one true God.

There is no way we can disregard God’s presence. Even our forefathers knew there was a higher being who controlled their lives – and they had elaborate types of prayers for blessings and against evil. Even great thinkers such as the Greek, Epicurean and Stoic philosophers quoted in the Scriptures in Acts 17:18-23 were religious and worshipped an unknown God. Paul of the Bible took time to explain that this unknown God was the one who made the universe. I would invite any of the free thinkers to read Acts 17:18-31. Verse 30 of the same chapter indicates that in the past God overlooked such ignorance on worshipping of gods of the mountains, silver, gold etc and now since He has revealed Himself through Jesus Christ He commands all to repent.

The challenge we are having here is trying to explain God, the way we would a specimen in the lab. If God could be totally deciphered He ceases to be God and becomes just like you and me. But God is a mystery and He reveals what is enough for our understanding. I believe there is alot more we do not understand about Him because probably we would not be able to contain it.

Deutronomy 29:29 “The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children fro ever, that we may follow all the words of this law.

God has changed my life, in a way that no human being could. The prayers made in church in true faith lead to healing of the sick, even doctors confess that it is beyond their understanding how some diseases have been cured through prayer. Freeing of the oppressed, deliverance from evil spirits etc

      Hey Carol,
Our forefathers did not believe in the bible’s god. my forefathers never for a second as far as i can recall from my religious education didn’t believe they had come from the garden of eden. They worshiped nature, believed in good and bad spirits for they didn’t know better. They thought diseases were caused by bad spirits and good fortune by good ones. They did nor believe man was born depraved, no, that was brought by the christians who came here with guns and bible. Either way you were screwed, you accept the bible peacefully or through force.

Name one Greek thinker mentioned in the bible. Maybe I haven’t reached that part. I have read the verse you mentioned.

When you mention Paul, he is the guy credited with developing christianity. He is the author of christianity, how then do you ask as to look at his writings? Unless you are telling me you didn’t know that about Paul. When Paul says it’s the god who created the universe, do you take Paul’s word? He didn’t know better. From what did god create the universe? If the universe is matter and force, and I trust you passed your elementary science lessons where you learnt that matter can’t be created or destroyed. So if matter and force can’t be created or destroyed, what did any god have to do with their creation?

If you are saying god can’t be understood or rather known, why bother worship him/her/ it? is there any sense in doing that really? However, from the bible which you quote, we can infer the characteristics of god and they are incoherent. It says he is a jealous god, he is merciful and just, all loving and so on. These characteristics are incoherent and can’t belong to the same being.

Carol you have changed your life. No god can, no god will. Give yourself credit, or rather give your environment credit for making you who you are. There was no god involved. It is sad you believe in evil spirits, sorry, you believe in god so you must also believe there are evil spirits. This things don’t exist, free yourself and live free from ghosts.

Have a prosperous new year free of ghosts

Read Mathew chapters 23-25….adn other scriptures…Whatever you are seing are signs of the end times. I disagree with you that the church has lost its meaning. The word of God will never loose its meaning. The churches are still parked on Sundays, if a portion of the population has chosen not to go to church, that does not represent everyone.

DO NOT deceive people, the just shall live by faith and not by sight, there are millions of christinans still living their lives as the Lord would want them to live, and they will do that till death, or till Christ comes back, God is not a liar, but the devil is….beware which side of the divide you are in….

Nduku, the just shall live by ignorance for that is what faith is, nothing more nothing less. You are so deluded that you can’t see it. When you appeal to numbers to support your cause, you are committing a logical fallacy, arguing because so many believe it, then it must be true. It isn’t even with a billion believers.

Every set of believers have always seen their time as the end times from the time the bible was authored. I will educate you a bit, even Daniel in his preaching talks of the end times, and times did not end. The apocryphal writings came up because for the people who believed, god did not seem to provide answers to their problems and as such, they had to write of a future and end time. So if you think it is the end times, sorry, many people before you have always thought so as well and we are still here. The universe may may in billions of years collapse in itself, but there will be no god involved in it annihilation

“…I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” JESUS CHRIST. Matthew 16:17

“Christianity will go. It will vanish and shrink. I needn’t argue about that. I’m right and will be proved right. The Beatles are more popular than Jesus now.”
December, 8 of 1980 John Lennon was shot by a fan of the Beatles

“For enough long time I’ve been listening that 12 people founded the new religion, but I have pleasure to prove that it’s sufficient of only one to eradicate religion forever.”
Now there is a warehouse of British Bible Society at Voltaire’s house in Paris

if a Beetles fan shooting John Lennon is proof of the existence of your god or some other then there really is something wrong with you and your god.

I support free thinking but I’m against this post.

I don’t get why humanists are so against the church when there are so many greater evils in the world today than the church. Why not fight poverty & disease first?
There are so many orphans who have been brought up by the church. How many orphans have u and your humanist pals helped?

    I acknowledge the following:
    1. Most of christians can’t and will never live fully according to the teachings of the bible. E.g Jesus telling the rich guy to sell everything he owns and give it to the poor. Christianity encourages ‘extremes’ and that’s why we have lots of watermelons in the church.
    2. God doesn’t always answer prayers otherwise they’d be no christians and young kids dying of cancer and other diseases.
    3. You don’t have to be a christian to help orphans and widows.
    4. You don’t have to be a christian to have inner peace, happiness, joy and success. Self control & discipline can do this for you.
    5. We don’t have to be christian to prosper in life: Science has already proved that.

Christianity might be unnecessary in the world but HONESTLY you humanists have your priorities mixed up. Help people first! If you can’t, let christians do what they can.

Those goods you mention can be done without the church. What is wrong with pointing that out?
The church is a hindrance to true progress and that has to be said over and over again. If you look at the above comments by believers, you see that the fact that they have been brought up in a particular belief, they are not able to critically question those beliefs. People must be encouraged to free themselves from religion.

Just curious, are you agnostic, atheist, pantheist, theist or deist? And if in case you are an atheist, you should be at least aware of the evils the church has committed against the human race in trying to do the will of god.
