Why did Jesus curse the Fig Tree?

Folks,

Something has caught my attention today. And that is the book of Mark 11: 12-14.

(Mark 11:12-14)12 And on the morrow, when they were come from Bethany, he was hungry: 13 And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet. 14 And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it.

This is one of the more infamous passages in the gospels. It involves Jesus’ cursing a fig tree for not having any fruit for him despite the fact that it wasn’t even the season for fruit. What sort of petulant individual would deliver a gratuitous, arbitrary curse?

Anybody to explain this bizarre act??

Or he abused his power by having vengeance in a ridiculous way or he was a raving lunatic.

it was simply a powerful lesson from what he had taught them . a tree that doesnt bear fruit is not worth(mat 7:16-20) . the disciples understood the practical lesson but some lunatic will think he was one of them.

The leaves appearing were a sign of fruitfulness. Therefore the tree was deceptive and bore nothing despite giving a picture of hope. G-d demands fruition not a semblance of it but the real tangible fruit. In different parables you hear of anything that does not bear fruit is pruned or cut off, so was the vase of the fig tree decided.
