Bringing together non-believers …
Folks, the Kenyan Free thinkers meeting that took place on the 16 th of June, 2012 was really successful. We had a sizable group of about 25 people, cutting across varied backgrounds, age-groups and gender and religious leanings. We want to thank all those who came for the meeting. It was refreshing to have various debates on matters of religion. I particularly want to thank the religious folk who dared to attend.
One of the issues we deliberated on was morality, and whether the bible or quran can be a basis for morality. A presentation was done, and we appreciate the various angles that came up on this issue.
It is clear now that many freethinkers believe that some religions are inherently harmful to humanity, and that just as believers have a right to express their views on religion, freethinkers have a right, and sometimes even a moral responsibility, to let their views be heard.
For those who did not attend, we welcome you to our next meeting next month. Follow us on Facebook and on this blog. keep in touch with our activities.
Become a part of the free thought movement in Kenya.
