What is this holabaloo about the death of MPs Orwa Ojode and George Saitoti? Why are we behaving as if that is the worst thing that ever happened in this world? Of course I feel a bit sorry, especially to the family members — any loss of life is painful. But if you are to be philosophical about it, DEATH is the most important invention of life. We should celebrate death goddammit! Death is a beatiful thing. Death marks the end, at the same time sets stage for a new beginning. It now depending on how you see it, whether the end is more important than a new beginning. For me i will go with the more important approach of a new beginning. It is always good to begin afresh, to give birth, since it presents us with another chance to try, maybe to become better. That is what death does. It opens a whole new set of possibilities.
The death of the 7 in that chopper, is basically an end of their lives. Sorry for looking too insensitive. But that is it. They are gone. We can only burry them, and forget. We now have to think about how the country shall move forward without the dead. What can we change, what can we improve; death in this case has presented an opportunity for a new beginning, a fresh start, an opportunity for change. Death seems the necessary ingridient for change. That is how the NAZI regime ended, with the death of NAZI. (Who says Hitler did not have relatives). The death of Gadaffi gave Libya a new chance. So has the sudden deaths of Ojode and Saitoti. That is the goddamn truth. Let us celebrate the death of the cabinet ministers. Let us view it a an opportunity to improve our helicopter training, our internal security, etc etc. We should stop putting the country in a mourning mood, yet we know we shall all die!
The late Steve Jobs explains this so well, in his Stanford Speech:
“No one wants to die. Even people who want to go to heaven …don’t want to die to get there. And yet death is the destination we all share. No one has ever escaped it. And that is as it should be, because Death is very likely the single best invention of Life. It is Life’s change agent. It clears out the old to make way for the new. Right now the new is you, but someday not too long from now, you will gradually become the old and be cleared away. Sorry to be so dramatic, but it is quite true.”
